The Branson School District has signed on with SchoolMessenger, a leading provider of notification services for parental outreach, emergency broadcasts, student attendance alerts and other communications for K-12 Education. Now parents can receive phone calls, text messages, and email alerts about a range of important issues affecting their students’ safety and academic performance.

SchoolMessenger will replace PirateCast (Textcaster) and will be used to complement the district’s existing emergency preparedness procedures and to inform parents of upcoming school events such as statewide testing and parent meetings.  

By default all parents will receive phone calls and emails.

If we have a cell phone number for you on file you should receive the following text message from 67587 requesting you to opt-in to continue receiving important text messages from your child’s school:

“Branson R4 School District  messages.  Reply Y to confirm, Help 4 info.  Msg&data rates may apply.  Msg freq varies. schoolmessenger.com™”

You can also opt out of these messages at any time by simply replying to one our messages with “Stop”.

If your wireless number is changed or a new number added in our student information system, the new number will automatically be sent an opt-in message.  

The InfoCenter area within SchoolMessenger, allows you to control how you receive communications from the school or district. The following is a guide to help you get started.  

What is InfoCenter?: InfoCenter provides access to all the messages and information sent by Branson Schools.  Accessible from any internet-enabled device, InfoCenter visually displays and organizes alerts, notifications, and attachments for easy review and reference. InfoCenter also allows you to customize how you receive communications from the school or district.

How do I sign up for InfoCenter?: Signing up for InfoCenter is easy. Using the email address that is associated to your SISK12 Parent Portal account, follow these steps:

  1. You can access the InfoCenter web portal at https://infocenter.schoolmessenger.com/.  You can also download the free ‘InfoCenter by SchoolMessenger’ app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. 
    For Andorid  Google Play  or iOS Apple iOS   
  2. Click “Sign Up”, enter your email address, and create a password. An email will be sent to that address with an activation token.

Note: If you receive an “already claimed by another user account” error message that means you’ve already created a SchoolMessenger account. Simply follow the “Return to login” link and login. Use the “Forgot your password” link if needed.

  1. After authenticating with the info in the confirmation sent to your email, return to InfoCenter and sign in using your email and password.

  2. Click Preferences (top right corner), click on each phone number or email address listed and select your notification preferences (call, email or text) in each category.

  3. If a phone number or email is incorrect, you will need to login to the SISK12 portal and change it or call the school office.

Important Things to Know: 

  • Regardless of how you choose to receive notifications, all messages associated with your records will be retained in the InfoCenter inbox for 30 days.  

  • You can opt into receiving Device Notifications (Push) under Notification Preferences. When choosing to receive Device Notifications, a badge or alert will appear when you receive new communications from your organization.  

  • If you do not set up your InfoCenter account, you will receive text, email and phone calls for all notifications concerning your student.
