Welcome students to the Intermediate library.  Once again, we are very excited for the 2011-2012 school year.  This year we will be kicking off our library projects with a genre study.  I am looking forward to all of the creative projects you design!  Can’t wait to get started.

We have been studying about the author Avi. He is the author of The Seer of Shadows, one of our Mark Twain nominees. What are some interesting facts you have been learning about Avi? Let’s share what we have learned!

We have completed introductions of the 2010-2011 Mark Twain books. They are now circulating among our 5th and 6th grade students. Tell me what you think! Which one is your favorite? And don’t forget to tell me why! I’m including a link to a web page that has a short synopsis of each title. http://thelibrary.springfield.missouri.org/kids/bookplanet/twain.cfm#nominees11 . Use this to help remind you about the books you are interested in reading. Don’t forget- you must read four Mark Twain books in order to vote in March.

We are off to a running start! Star tests have been given and we are in the process of setting our AR points for the first quarter. Make sure you truly considering participating in the Intermediate AR Club. You don’t want to miss out on the GRAND field trip at the end of the year! Fun was had by all at Skate World last year.
